Pass It Along

I have been pretty excited about putting this wedding on the blog.  It is not a stretch to say that I love all the weddings we are able to be a part of, but sometimes (from the photography side) things "just click".  Tim and Jessica's wedding was one of those weddings that "just clicked".  The lighting (both in and out) was perfect, the bride was almost literally glowing, the groom was visibly full of thanks, the bridal party was fun to be around, and it quit raining and dried up before we began taking any pictures.  All in all, it was a delight.  I titled this post "Wedded Bliss" partly to be silly, but mainly because I think (as you can see from Jessica's amazing smile in almost every picture) the happiness they share was evident to everyone who was there (and hopefully everyone who views their photos).

Erin and Tim - A Cleveland Wedding

Pass It Along

A little while ago Kristin and I were able to be apart of Erin's (the wonderful bride featured in this blog) sister's wedding day (taking photos of course).  It is pretty common for a family member or friend to see our work from one wedding and ask us to be apart of their special day as well.  The humorous part about this situation is that no one could recognize me from the previous wedding.  I used to sport a pretty huge beard, and now that I am well trimmed it appears that I look a lot different.  All funniness aside, Erin and Tim had a wonderful day.  The weather was nice and toasty (about as hot as I can remember), yet not overwhelming.  Everyone was full of joy.  Even though our entire day was wonderful, the highlight for me was when the groom gave a small speech at the reception.  He wanted to publicly thank God for helping him through some tough times and especially for giving him such a wonderful wife.  This speech did not produce the best photos of the night (they are good though), but it gave everyone there a sense of how much Tim is grateful for his bride.   This was a great thing to be a part of.

Kristin set up this next shot, and I am a big fan!

Tim and Erin love their home town - CLEVELAND!

I do not often get to do night shots, so this was a treat.  At the end of the evening we went out by the water at Window's on the River and were able to catch all the lights of the city skyline.  I am so glad we got to do this.

Sarah and Josh Married!

Pass It Along

Sarah and Josh were married last week, and what looked to be an unpleasant day for photographs surprisingly turned out to be a delight.  In my five + years of full time shooting weddings, I have never witnessed bad weather ruining a wedding.  Inclement weather might put a stumbling block in the way of photographs and all around fun, but the love of the bride and groom, and the excitement of friends and family coming together to celebrate this love, cannot be stopped by rain!  All that being said, we were given a window of time after the ceremony with no rain, so Josh, Sarah, and the crew were able to spend some time near the Cleveland Museum of Art goofing around, while Kristin and I snapped some photos.  It did sprinkle a bit on us at the end of our shooting, but no one seemed to mind one bit.  All in all, the Sarah and Josh had a wonderful day and Kristin and I were happy to be a part of it.

This next shot was my favorite of the day.  Josh decided to kiss Sarah on her head (with no help from us).  This authentic movement of love is one of the greatest things a wedding photographer can hope to capture when shooting. You can see his care for her and her joy simultaneously.  I'm sure this shot alone would allow them to remember how they felt on their wedding day for ages to come.

The building below is the Peter B. Lewis Business building at Case Western Reserve (where Sarah wend to medical school).  Although I would never pay 67 million dollars to build a cool background for photographs, I am glad Case did.  The building is a unique piece of art, and shooting there is always a privilege.

Baby Britt

2010-04-22

A few years ago, Jesse shot Brian and Jenn's wedding.  This was one of our favorite pictures on Lake Erie.

We were thrilled when we heard that Jenn was expecting... and they wanted us to do her maternity photos.

We brought the black backdrop and did several shots of them with both white and black shirts.  These two were our favorites.  I love the emotion that each shot shows.

This is the silhouette shot that we took.  There were about 7 different angles that Jesse took, and he processed them all a little different.  We both had a favorite.  Which led to why can't we both agree on a favorite to blog?!  One is my obvious favorite, and the other is Jesse's obvious favorite.  So, we need your help.  Please vote for your favorite silhouette shot, the golden one on the left, or the bold vibrant one on the right.  We will let you know which one had more votes, and which one was mine and Jesse's in a few days.  :)

We are so excited to meet baby Britt!  Congratulations Brian and Jenn!

Amy McDermott:

Oh, the pics are amazing.... I am so happy you decided to do it! I think I would vote for the one on the left,,,, but they are both excellent!!

Jillian Nobles:

These pics turned out amazing! I really like the one on the left because of the coloring, but both are beautiful. It does look more fallish though and with a spring baby, you may like the brighter colored one.

Mark :

I like the one on the right best. Cool pics!

Jo:

I love the one on the right!! The blue sky looks pretty in the background and I like the shading. Great photos!!

Amy :

Love them both...but I think I like the golden one on the left. It is bigger and the lighting is so different. Beautiful! Great photography!

Sarah Seidletz:

Those pictures with the shadows are amazing! I was drawn to the one on the left, first, but I think after many years the one on the right might seem more vibrant. Love all the pics though

Carrie Andrews:

Love the silhouette picture!! Love the one on the left!!
:)

Jennifer Britt:

Senior Portrait Sneak Peek

Pass It Along

It has been a long process, but our studio is almost finished.  We were kind of in a pickle with the weather last week, since the wind was insane, so we shot the first portion of our senior session in our unfinished studio.  Amelia was great, and we got some great shots.  I thought I would put up a sample, since I could not help but show it off.  It is a combination of three shots (one of Amelia with an umbrella, the other is the painted peacock, and finally Jesse recommended that I put the cracked texture to the left).  All in all I am excited about the look, and can't wait to shoot with Amelia outside and get to work on the rest of her pics.
