Pass It Along

One really special thing about Jessica and Jarrod's wedding at Buffalo Creek was getting to meet Jessica's family.  During the day we got to talk to her siblings and her parents, and there were a lot of siblings!  Jessica has 7 sisters and 4 brothers.  It seems I've had the opportunity to photograph some big families lately.  And having a big family myself, I really like that.  I get to see big families a lot further down the road than my own, and it's pretty cool.  Having six kids under the age of 12 can be a bit chaotic at times, but I've been told and I've witnessed the reward of when they are all older and they are all close friends.  It's very cool.  Jessica and Jarrod had perfect weather and a beautiful setting, along with support of a close family.

Here are all 8 of the sisters getting ready.

I love this next shot...all the guys getting the pics of their girls together.  One thing I love about shooting weddings is seeing other people taking pictures all day long.  It reminds me about how important it is to people.  I love seeing people capturing memories and smiling about the experience because I have the same sentiment.

So this is Jesse's entire family, including spouses and nieces and nephews.

And here are all the siblings with mom and dad.

I've been waiting for this shot for quite some time; waiting for just the right spot.  I hope you love it.

Nelli and I collaborated on this and I love it.  Her's was the idea of the girls blossoming out of the ground like a flower and I was able to contribute my balance and height.

These are my two favorite shots of the day...maybe

This is might be my favorite too.

Congrats Jarrod and Jessica!

Sophi:

Congradulations Jessy and Jarrod on being married. I really like the black and white picture of you dancing, and also the one of your sisters toast. I was there when they wrote it... it was interesting to say the least.

Jessy:

I lOVE all these shots. It is so hard for me to try and choose my favorite. I had a good idea in my head of how they would look as we were taking them and they are even more amazing then what I pictured. I am so happy! Photography was one of my top three most important things on my wedding day. I am so thankful for Jesse and Nelli, they have a wonderful talent.

David :

I would have to say these are pretty close to your best I've seen! AWESOME job Jesse and Nelli!

Katie and Dustin - Engaged!

Pass It Along

I met up with Katie and Dustin a few days back to shoot some engagement pics.  They are getting married next summer.  Engagement shoots are a great way for me as a photographer to get to know a couple before the wedding day as well as a great way to get shots that we often can't get during a wedding (like shot of the bride sitting on the a rock etc.).  This shoot was no exception.  Katie and Dustin met at Ashland where Dustin played football.  I also discovered Dustin and his family are jewelers (so I tried to hook them up with some extra sweet pics of Katie's ring - which was amazing).  Katie just finished her first year of law school and she was able to share with me a bit of what was going on in her life that made the evening extra special.  I can't wait till next year when I get to be there when they tie the knot.  Good luck with all the planning guys!

Dustin almost slipped on the algae here and some how busted out his athletic skills and made the greatest recovery I have witnessed.  Since he was safe - the shot was certainly worth it.

Amy and Eric - Married!

Pass It Along

Is it just me or has the perception on high school sweethearts getting married changed over time.  At least all the romantic movies of the past I can recall elevated the notion of getting married to your high school sweetheart as a thing to be admired.  Now, however people seem to have a less sentimental perspective.  I am NOT one who has changed.  I have shot a plethora of weddings and a few have been high school sweethearts (like Amy and Eric) and I cannot help but enjoy the love they have for each other.  It might be noted that Amy and Eric have been together through all of college, battling long and medium distances- so their relationship has weathered a few storms so to speak.  All that being said, you can tell in these shots that they are meant for each other.

The pic Amy is showing us is of their first date - Homecoming.

Although this shot deserves a huge canvas to appreciate, It is still appealing here on the blog.  The weather was great and this building was ideal.

Love this next shot of the guys.  They played the part well.

This next one was Kristin's suggestion - it turned out to be one of the best shoe shots we have done.

There were a few nutty fellows at the reception - I guess if you put the stretch chair cover over your body like Casper and dance with the bride - you can make it on the blog.

Tiffany + Max married

Pass It Along

This is Tiffany.  She got married on a sunny, super hot day in July.  And it was one of the happiest days of her life.  She had a beautiful smile on her face the entire day.  I couldn't have asked for a sweeter couple, Max and Tiffany.  They were full of love for each other, and I was lucky enough to capture it.

This is a gift from Max.  He had their names engraved into a heart, on a cross with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  One of the most beautiful expressions of what love is.

This might be my favorite shot of the day...  not because of how it artistically looks, but because this is them.  I look at this and it brings back memories of what I saw that day, how I saw them look at each other.  And I know those of you who are close to Tiffany and Max, you know what I am talking about.

Tiffany decided that she wanted to get ice cream at Mitchell's ice cream shop.  GREAT idea!  Like I said before, it was extremely hot that day, and it was not only a great photo opportunity, but it was a cold treat for the wedding party.

If you look close at this, you can see how amazing their eyes are!

I had my good friend Liz with me as my second shooter.  I love shooting with her, and this shot she took made me love it even more :)

We did these shots at Rocky River park.  The day before, me and Jesse shot the Beirne wedding at the exact same park.  (2 blog posts ago)  I wanted their pictures to be completely different, unique and almost like it wasn't the same place.

I love the processing of this shot.  I actually got the idea from Jesse's last blog post...  Thanks Jess!

Thank you Max and Tiffany for letting me capture this special day.

Adam + Stephanie...Married!

Pass It Along

Here I sit in my office blogging at 2:30 in the morning.  Yes, there have been some long nights at the office lately.  This has been our busiest year ever.  I'm probably going to have to cut down on the number of images I blog shortly, but for this wedding, there was just no way I was going to be able to do that.  When I left their wedding 10 days ago and walked out into thick Cleveland night air outside the Radisson in Eastlake, my only thought as I opened the door to my car was: "I love those guys."  Adam and Stephanie's wedding would have been a bright spot in anyone's day.  And if the experience solely consisted of photographing them and commemorating their love, it would have been a good day.  But not only did I get to witness the love of a wonderful couple and capture these moments, I also got to spend the day with this great group of people.  The bridal party was awesome and the families.  There were a few pro photographers in the party and a guy who had good ideas, so it gave a real challenge to perform and use my creativity.  Note of honesty: Sometimes the bridal party ideas shots are something I wade through, but this guy really had some sweet creative thoughts.  I love it when people do that.  There is an artist in all of us.  So here is how it started.

This ceremony had such a good vibe to it.  You could just sense the connection between Adam and Stephanie and the support from the families.  They left joyful, but my favorite shots were right when they got through the doors.  A couple real moments to cherish.

After the entry we did some usual family, formal shots inside.  I don't think I've ever blogged formals because they don't show much creativity and are typical.  I do value them however.  I can see how a family picture is very important when you have several generations involved.  This group was so fun that I couldn't help catching a few more candid ones in between the niceties.

Here's where I give credit to the second groomsman down.  Here recommended the stairs and I think it was a mighty fine idea.  At first I wanted to eliminate the cars, but when I saw a few frames I thought they added depth.

Notice: No bridesmaids were injured in the performance of this stunt.

Normally, I wouldn't make your scroll this much...but it might be worth it

Normally I don't blog speeches either, but I had to blog this next picture because I like the words of speech so much.  Stephanie and her Maid on Honor had made a pact with each other early in college to only consider a man who really loved Jesus.  They decided not to play the dating game, but rather to be patient for their soul mate.  I think this is such a good example to society.  Yes, to follow Jesus and his teachings and also to set your standards before you get involved.  Determining our values before we make big decisions!  This could help our generation dodge so many painful mistakes.  We were all pretty sure it was a good choice for Stephanie.  God gave her Adam.

The Dance floor was rocking all night with some sweet moves and epic dance-offs.  Congrats Stephanie and Adam.
