Lindsey and Kyle married
2010-08-18This is Kyle and his guys. They were up for just about anything, and had a really fun time. I had a hard time choosing which ones to blog because there were so many! They were hiding in bushes, hanging on monkey bars, sliding down slides, and doing crazy ninja moves. But these were a few of my faves from the morning.
We took a lot of just the guys shots and just the girls shots before the ceremony started.

This is Lindsey. I was so impressed by her. When I got home, I told this to Jesse too, that she totally expressed herself with how she dressed and presented herself on her wedding day. Every last detail from the dress to the veil, the shoes, her hair, the bracelet... everything just showed who she was. I loved it.

This is Jesse's favorite.

Jesse processed this for me. It's like she's running into the woods... looks like Alice in Wonderland to me!

Here is their reflection outside the reception hall of them looking at their cake.

This had the best dance I think I have ever been to! It was so fun, everybody dancing and having such a fun time.

Ok, so this is my favorite shot of the day.... I just loved everybody's expression.

Now is top hat was one of the main events at Lindsey and Kyle's wedding. We had Adam(a groomsman) get it for us in the reception hall. It was one of the decorations. We used it for a few props, and it somehow made it's way down to the dancefloor. It ended being in the middle of the dance floor for the entire evening, being passed from person to person. It was a blast.

I love it!

Thank you Lindsey and Kyle for having such a fun and awesome wedding. I enjoyed the day so much, and am so happy to have gotten to know you two. Enjoy the rest of your lives together!

Hey guys these are awesome. Beautiful pictures. Just really puts the day beautifully into pictures. One suggestion - maybe a little more of Derek! haha, boop

This is a gift from Max. He had their names engraved into a heart, on a cross with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. One of the most beautiful expressions of what love is.

This might be my favorite shot of the day... not because of how it artistically looks, but because this is them. I look at this and it brings back memories of what I saw that day, how I saw them look at each other. And I know those of you who are close to Tiffany and Max, you know what I am talking about.

Tiffany decided that she wanted to get ice cream at Mitchell's ice cream shop. GREAT idea! Like I said before, it was extremely hot that day, and it was not only a great photo opportunity, but it was a cold treat for the wedding party.

If you look close at this, you can see how amazing their eyes are!

I had my good friend Liz with me as my second shooter. I love shooting with her, and this shot she took made me love it even more :)

We did these shots at Rocky River park. The day before, me and Jesse shot the Beirne wedding at the exact same park. (2 blog posts ago) I wanted their pictures to be completely different, unique and almost like it wasn't the same place.

I love the processing of this shot. I actually got the idea from Jesse's last blog post... Thanks Jess!

Thank you Max and Tiffany for letting me capture this special day.
Keith K:

Home sweet home: Erin and Cam's wedding...
2010-07-22I have been very excited about this blog post... probably the most exciting post I've had. Here is why:
Every summer Jesse tries to get at least 1 wedding in Montana for us to shoot. He will have a listing on google directed at brides in Montana, that way, when we do get hired for a wedding, we will plan a family trip around that date. You see, both me and Jesse grew up in Montana. In fact Jesse was born there, and I moved there when I was 6 months old. We both lived in the same little towns our whole life, until we went to college, and then we moved to the town of Missoula, MT and then got married. We lived there a few years after we got married, and moved to Ohio and started Finest Moments. So getting a wedding in MT is a great way to get us home in the summer.
Jesse got Erin's call in September of 2009. She was living in Wyoming, so we never ended up meeting her. She hired us, and then it was time to get all the details. First Jesse asked where her wedding was. A lot of the weddings we get in Montana are in the town of Missoula, or Butte. Both are one of the biggest towns in MT. But she said she was getting married in Stevensville....
"Stevensville?! That is the town that Nelli grew up in," Jesse told Erin. (This is a very small town about 30 miles outside of Missoula.)
"And what is the address of the ceremony and reception?" Jesse asked.
"It is just outside of Stevensville, kind of out in the country. On a long dirt road called Tripp Lane, " Erin explained.
Ok... now let me stop this story here. I grew up in Stevensville. The long dirt road I lived on WAS also Tripp Lane!
So it turns out that the ceremony and reception site was just 1/2 mile down the dirt road from the house that I grew up in. In fact, my parents still live there, and when we go back to Montana to visit, we always stay there. It was to be in a field by a creek, the same creek that I would swim in as a kid! And to make it even more ironic, the artistic photos were to be at the top of a hill where you can see the whole Bitteroot Valley and Rocky Mountains, all the way from Idaho clear into Missoula. It is a piece of property that me and Jesse always ride the four-wheeler to, and gaze at the beauty of the mountains.
What a coincidence- We would be shooting the wedding practically walking distance from my home!
Now, the reason that I had never met Erin growing up, is because she didn't live there all year. Her dad built a log cabin right on the creek about 30 years ago, so they actually lived in Eastern Montana and would only come to the cabin in the summer for a few weeks.
I had been looking forward to shooting this wedding all year. And when the day finally arrived, it was amazing. So much planning and thoughtfulness went into this wedding. They had cleared out a huge field in order to have the ceremony and reception there, right in front of the creek. They built the dance floor out of tall logs and hung lights all above. They had hay bails set out as seats and even a few handmade log benches.
We arrived in Stevensville about a week before the wedding. Each day we would see more things being built(like the awesome dance floor) and saw as the big white tent was raised.
Here is the Erin and Cam's wedding... I think one of the most special weddings I have ever shot.

I got pretty excited that we got to hang her dress outside in the tree! We've never done that before.

Here is her detail shots on the carriage that took her from her house down to the ceremony site. She wore the same pearl necklace that her mother and grandmother wore at their wedding.

Right as we got there, the cake had toppled over from the heat! But fortunately, they were able to call the bakery and have another one made up. As I was editing these, Josiah my 2 year old son was very interested in these pictures. He kept saying, "uh-oh... what happened!" And would want me to show him this picture over and over!

This is Erin and her sister and mom helping her get ready. They all had such a strong love for eachother.

I should mention also that Jesse took most of these photo's. I was only his assistant this day, Jesse was the main photographer, but we both did the editing. I think this is a very dramatic shot of Cam.

And I must say that I think Jesse is getting pretty good at the tilt-shift lens!

Oh ya, I forgot to mention that she had a really awesome veil.

I love this shot Jesse took of Cam... wow.

I think that they picked the perfect spot to have the ceremony. Under a tree so you don't have harsh sun, and the sun was low enough to get a sun flare.

My fav of the day... She is so cute!

So here is Jesse pulling out his tilt-shift lens in the ceremony. He is pretty daring, but it pays off! What a great shot he got.

So after the ceremony I was super excited about the kiss shot I got. I told Jesse, and he right away was telling me that he was super excited about his kiss shot. Mine is the one on the left, his on the right.

Even the horses are posing!

This is the cabin that her dad built!

After dinner, we took them up to the top of the hill to do some artistic shots. The sun was painting the sky so pretty. They drove in his dad's old jeep, and we took my dad's old truck to use as props.

Jesse took all these night shots and processed them for me. I really think they turned out pretty!

So romantic :)

Erin and Cam, you guys have such fun personalities!

And I love this last shot. They had one last dance. I saw how Erin just grabbed hold of Cams waist and hugged on to him so tight. They were truly in love. I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of this wedding. I really believe it was meant to be.

Roadtrips and Rainbows...
2010-07-10We left for our second big roadtrip of the year just over a week ago. Our first was in May. We went through 14 different states... straight to the west coast. We have just been so busy we haven't had a chance to blog all of those photos, but believe me, we will blog those! On our way back to Ohio, we stopped at Jesse's sister's house in Bozeman, MT. Her oldest daughter, Love, is 7 months younger than our oldest daughter Alicia. They were also the first grandchildren. Alicia and Love have shared a closeness since they were born. Back to Bozeman... when we arrived in town, we found out that Love had been outside for several hours waiting for us to get there. We only had a few hours that night and were planning on leaving in the morning. Next morning, Jesse says to all the kids, "Ok, kids, say goodbye and let's hit the road!" I had this gut feeling that we were supposed to take Love with us, because we would be coming back to Montana again in a month and a half. I whispered to Jesse, "Let's take Love..." and he looks at me, and says, "Let's have a family meeting." For those of you who don't know, me and Jesse have 6 kids...:) So adding another for over a month would make us even more crazy! But everybody agreed that we wanted Love to come. And she did. Several times throughout that month, we stopped to see what a blessing she was to our family. Love, Alicia and Caleb(he is 8) got really close. Jesse actually did a fun summer school with them, teaching them poetry, philosophy, bible, economics and much more. They even got to plan a mini-vacation by the Lake. The whole time she was here I was busy... Jesse was busy too, with all the different weddings and photography jobs. So we never got any good photos of the girls. We talked about taking some, but it never would work out. Then it came time to leave and we still had no photos. In Rapid City, SD, the sun was setting and looking like a perfect photo opportunity. I talked Jesse into taking the photos. He had the boys out with him holding flashes, so I can't take any credit for these photos of Alicia and Love. They were exactly what I had wanted though. Thank you Jesse for taking these priceless photos!

So this picture gets us to Montana. I took Joshy(6) to scope out the area. We are here to shoot a wedding. And that is another story, another blog post. Really an amazing story of how we ended up shooting this wedding. Me and Jesse are actually going to shoot it in a few hours. Stayed tuned, Jesse already told me I get to blog the wedding... :)

This last pic is a picture from the back porch of the house I grew up in. I don't know if I have ever seen a rainbow this beautiful! Have a great day! :)

Kami and Jeremy married!
2010-06-08I got to shoot Kami and Jeremy's wedding last Saturday. This was my first one of the year that I was the main photographer. I was super excited, and I was even able to take my good friend Liz with me to help assist me. Jesse had been teaching me tons of new techniques, and I had been practicing all week.
When we woke up, it was pouring rain! But it just worked out, that every time we needed the rain to stop, it did, and we were able to get all the shots that we needed outside taken.
Jesse had a wedding this day too. I am super happy that he decided to let me take the 1.2 50mm lens. I used that most of the day. It's my favorite lens.

Since it was rainy, we took these shots in her parents sun room. The roof was leaking and wasn't the prettiest as far as backgrounds go... but *perfect* light. Her dad later told me that they were ripping that room down!

Here is Jeremy with his boys.

These two were so happy to be married. Right before Kami came down the isle, Jeremy was waiting... and watching the door. He said out loud, "Let me see her already!" It was so cute.

The kiss

Husband and wife!

The bubbles...

We took the artistic pictures at Lakeview Park in the rose gardens. The roses are sooo beautiful right now!

I love how Kami's eyeshadow matched her flowers! :)

These two are my favorites of the day.

This might be my favorite too!

Their first dance:

For their night shot, we went outside to a fountain. It kind-of looks like a neon volcano is erupting behind them!

Congratulations Kami and Jeremy!
Love:
