Wow! What a time I've had since I last posted. Any of you who may have been following me on facebook already know that I made the choice to drive to my destination wedding in Portland Oregon rather than fly. Not only did I choose to drive, I decided to do so with my whole family in an RV. We just shot the wedding yesterday and I can't be happier about it. Those images are coming soon, but before that I need to show you some from our spontaneous engagement session at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Denver Colorado. We decided to stop in and stay with my good friend from college, Luke. It had been 10 years since I've seen him. Part of the reason I chose to drive so far is so that I could reconnect with people who had made an impact on my life. Luke actually recommended my first camera purchase and saved my life once, so he was an obvious choice. I met his fiancee Katie soon after we arrived. Nelli and I are so happy for these two to have found each other. The idea of doing photos didn't come up until I noticed and empty signing frame in their sunroom. Determined to fill it, I offered to do some photos for them. Katie was very hesitant. She's the type that doesn't like her photo to be taken. We were persistent. We knew that a good photo session would just consist of these two being natural and having fun. We brought all the kids with us for the shoot (first time ever), and Luke initiated some rail-sliding with them. Luke showed the kids how it was done and Katie was quick to jump in.
Soon, the adventure of single-sliding wasn't enough, so they went for a tandem ride.
Next, we just decided to hang out for a while at the most scenic concert venue I've ever seen. We walked the stairs for a while and got some great family pics. Our kids became so attached to Luke and Katie that they wanted them to come with us for the trip. I managed to get a few more shots that show how much these two loved each other. They compliment each other so well.
So glad my good friend Luke found Katie.
Katie, It was so good to meet you. Thank you for your hospitality and the love you showed us. Luke, I'm glad we could finally get back in touch and that you brought us to such an awesome place. You will always be in our hearts and we wish you many blessings on your wedding day.
