Listening to a little Jack Johnson Brushfire Fairytales for this post. It's been our busiest year, so this time of year it seems like the weddings are just flying by. It's nice to be able to sit down to some good music and relive the day during the processing of these photos. Kate grew up on Lake Erie, where her parents' house is. This is where David and I started off. When we got there we walked out to the lake to scope out the area. It was raining and looked to possibly be rainy all day. I knew how special the lake was to Kate and Mike and held out hope that perhaps we could still get some photos there later in the day.
These girls had the highest bridesmaid to iphone ratio I've encountered thus far. Only one was missing out on this wonderful technology so I had had to pitch mine in. Guess where?
Here's Kate with her veil. This special veil was made by her mom along many other wedding items.
I'm always excited for something new to happen at a wedding, so when I found out Ayden would be rolling down the aisle on this I was pretty psyched.
This next series of shots seemed to be a very special moment of the day. You had the feeling this was much more than a wedding, but a beginning of a family, and it was very special for Ayden.
After the wedding it was still pouring, so we did a few pictures under the roof.
After taking a few, I was happy that Mike and Kate decided to head into the downpour for a few photos by the lake.
As Kate kicked off her shoes she told me that she felt best right here on the lake. Even with a steady downpour, I think this moment was a highlight of the day. The rain could not stop Mike and Kate from enjoying the outdoors and appreciating this moment.
Thank you Kate and Mike for having David and I there to capture these memories.
