This was a very special wedding for me. You see, my cousin Shelley got married! And... it was in Mazatlan, Mexico. I was able to fly in a week early and spend time with my mom, sister, cousins, aunt and uncle and grandma. It was an amazing week, beautiful weather, and just a great time.
Here is my favorite from the day:
A few days before the wedding, they had their bachelor and bachelorette party's. Here are a few from that:
Shelley and Dusty are the most laid back people you will ever meet. I don't think that she knew what time the wedding was going to start... well until it actually started! It was quite a trec to get out to the wedding site. It was on Stone Island. They had buses, taxi's, truck's, van's and pulmanea's getting people to the boat dock, then a short boat ride and another bumpy ride in the back of a truck got you to the site! When the day came, everthing came together so beautifully! It was amazing...
Shelly was the youngest of four siblings, then about 10 years ago, she got 2 younger sister's! Here is her sister Brisa putting a hair wrap in. She used all bright colors for wedding.
Here are the boats to take you to Stone Island.
Arriving at the island...
Shelley put her wedding dress together. She got her skirt from Free People and paired everything together just beautiful. She then found a local to hand bead an intricate belt to wear.
Shelley had 15 bridesmaids to help her get ready!
Here is her adorable neice Seirra~
Next I met Dusty and his guys. He bought everyone these great leather belts:
Shelley (isn't she beautiful?!)
The wedding site:
Here is our grandma Betty. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She was a huge help in getting me down to Mazatlan!
Dusty's first look at Shelley!
They had an african band playing the bongo's and blowing a conch
I loved that noboday wore shoes!
Shelley's mom and dad~
Shelley had planned a lot of these shots. She came prepared with a surfboard, mango's and a coconut!
These are so cute!
The sky and lighting was changing the entire night. It was sooo gorgeous!
All these decorations were put together by Shelley and her friends. They were so bright! Even hammocks to relax in!
Here is my mom with Zoe. THANK YOU mom! She watched my baby all day so I could shoot the wedding:)
The sky just lit up bright pink and orange for about 10 minutes... It was surreal!
The band that played earlier when they came down the isle, were also fire dancers! It was so cool, Zoe loved it too!
Shelley and Dusty watching
Instead of cake, they had cookies. Shelley makes the cookies at her parents coffee shop in Mazatlan.
Another one of my cousins sang. Sarah did three songs all accapella, she is incredible!
They had another reggae band play the rest of the night, it was so much fun!
Thank you so much Shelley and Dusty for having me shoot your wedding! You guys are so amazing, and I wish you the best in the years to come! Love you!
ALSO... a huge THANK YOU to Jesse. He stayed at home and watched the older 5 kids. He did a great job too. Here is a pic while I was away:
