Ashley and Chris came back from Denver to Vermilion to celebrate their wedding on Lake Erie. It was a beautiful sunny day - a perfect day to go to the beach and go on a boat ride, which is exactly what we did. By far my favorite part of the day was when Chris and Ashley saw each other for the first time and this might be my favorite shot of that moment.
As you can see, it was not only a beautiful day. Ashley and Chris are beautiful people and when they are together you can clearly see how much they care about each other. We started the day right next to Ashley's parents beachhouse while she was getting ready.
Once ready, Ashley jumped in her sister's car and headed over to see Chris. Chris was anxiously waiting at the park by the lake. It was a very emotional moment and made for some of my favorite pictures of the whole day. It also set the tone for an amazing day that Chris and Ashley would share with their friends. Some people think that seeing each other beforehand would take from the emotion of walking the aisle, but it doesn't usually seem like that to me. The aisle includes mom and/or dad and carries a seperate significance. This moment was all about Ashley and Chris.
Then we met up with Chris and Ashley's family and friends. The girls brought their cool shoes with them.
Then it was time for the ceremony. Once the flowergirl and ringbeared had done their job they were promptly rewarded.
As soon as the ceremony ended the bridal party headed to a boat ride and the ringbearer went to play with the dog...
The reception was at the Vermilion Boat Club. The bridal party made their entrance straight from the boat and began dancing. Chris and Ashley had some new moves ready.
The reception decorations were inspired by Chris and Ashley's favorite runs at Vail.
In case you were wondering about that other hand Ashley was holding during the ceremony - that was her sister Devon who was also the maid-of-honor. You could tell how close these two sisters were from the first time I met them. I loved Devon's speech. It was funny, honest, real and emotional all wrapped together as one sentimental gift to the guests.
Congrats Chris and Ashley on an amazing wedding day and a bright future together!
