Sometimes as a wedding photographer, you drive to a wedding in the rain. You pull your reliable car up to a house for the getting-ready shots and it's still raining. You then wonder, how is everyone inside feeling right now. Sometimes people let that rain get to them a little bit too much on wedding days. They let it supersede the wonder of the day - the emotion and the relationships that are being celebrated. Not so with Ashley. As soon as we arrived in the house, the sun was shining, figuratively. I knew from the moment I met Ashley and Robby, that being a part of their day would be a privilege to us. What I didn't know was that it would be my first wedding photographing an identical twin. One of my best buddies had identical twins not long ago. I'm familiar with the special bond. I quickly realized with Ashley's sister getting married later this year and them both living together for so long, what a momentous occasion this was. And from the parent's perspective as well - they're twins would both be venturing in different directions out of their home. Sometimes Nelli and I see these moments that are in front of us and the magnitude of them, and we feel honored. We also feel like being a part of a day like this is a well-needed reminder of the important things in life. On Robby and Ashley's day we witnessed the wonder of tight-knit loving families, caring friendships, and best of all love. And before long the sun came out to join us as well...
My favorite of the day?
The speeches from Ashley's sister and Robby's brother were excellent. They touching, tear-inducing, but jubilant at the same time.
My favorite of the day
Congrats Ashley and Robby! It was such a fun time with you. We looking forward to seeing you again as soon and showing you more images as soon as you're back from the beach:)
